2.5" x 10 Yard Metallic Foil Swirl Leaf Wired Ribbon | Gold Damask Scrollwork on Christmas Red
Baroque, ornate and unapologetically formal. Large C-scrolls and S-scrolls, split acanthus leaves with feathered serrated tips and tight spiraling tendrils interlock across a red linen-look ground in applied metallic foil. The motifs run big, one to two inches across, so only about a scroll and a half fits the 2.5 inch width and the design flows on a bias with no visible repeat break.
Two foils are at work: a pale champagne gold carries most of the scrollwork while a darker bronze-to-black metallic picks out accent flourishes and shading, giving the filigree an antiqued, tarnished depth. Coverage is heavy, roughly half to two thirds of the face, with red surviving as sinuous channels between the scrolls. The wired gold edge is stiff enough to hold a sharply creased zigzag drape.
