The main gabled block is joined by a lower cross-gabled wing, a tall square chimney and a small peaked entry portico, and every window and the front door are genuinely cut through the wood, so the interior LED glows out through the arched Gothic tracery and the little square panes.
The distressing is what makes it feel collected rather than bought: warm gray-beige grain shows through the white paint on the roof, chimney and base, and the whole piece is dusted with coarse white glitter snow that piles heaviest on the roof planes. A row of white pickets fences the front yard, and one corner carries a sprig of snow-tipped pine with a brown pinecone and three glossy red berries, the only spot of color on the entire piece.
