Because each gold foil sprig spans nearly the full 7/8 inch, the leaves fall into a single trailing row down the ribbon, angling up-right then up-left, so it reads as a continuous vine rather than a scattered field. Leaf tips run right off into the gold edges, which only adds to the garland effect.
Both metallic gold wired selvedges take up a larger share of a narrow ribbon, so this colorway reads noticeably more gold overall than its 2.5 inch counterpart. It is the trim ribbon you reach for when a bow needs a gilded outline without another big print competing for attention.
